Simon Leon State Novice Runner-Up

From starting his bowls journey just a few short years ago at our inaugural Corporate Cup barefoot bowls challenge, to State Champions Week in 2021, Simon Leon has come a long way in a short time.

Simon battled it out against Ethan Fruend (Ovens & Murrary Region) for the title of  2020 Victorian State Novice Champion at State Champion’s Week in Warrnambool in January (the 202o event was postponed due to COVID-19 and held in 2021). Although he didn’t come away with the win on the day, the Silver medal is still a wonderful personal achievement, and we don’t believe we’ve ever had a novice make it that far in our Club’s 60+ year history.
