MPBC’s 2021 Finals Campaign has begun!

What a hugely successful year Murrumbeena Park has had on the greens this season! Nearly all sides have made finals; the Saturday Pennant 6-a-side (Summer) unfortunately got knocked out in the semi-final against Bennettswood, but a top effort to get there. Thursday’s new 7-a-side Midweek Pennant team also made it through to their semi-final last week but were only just out-bowled by Bentleigh (47-36). Congrats to all who helped get those sides to finals and all who battled it out on the day.

Now onto this weekend’s first round of Saturday Pennant Finals. What a fantastic result to have both Side 1 and Side 2 finish 2nd on their respective ladders (Division 3 & 5). We got so close to top spot, with Side 1 managing to steal 1st place from Mt Waverley for just a week, but they soon took it back to finish on top. But two teams sitting in 2nd place isn’t half bad, and the best result we’ve seen in a number of years.

It’s so great for our club and our members to have both sides playing semi-final at home this Saturday 20th March. The greens are looking magnificent, and we’ll be pulling out all stops to get two teams playing in Grand Finals on Sunday.
